Position Overview -
AJM Packaging Corporation, a leading manufacturer of paper plates, cups, bowls and bags is seeking an IT Intern at our Corporate office in Bloomfield Hills, MI. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the computer and network hardware for this growing manufacturer.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Organize, install, and support the computer systems and other data communication systems
- Trouble-shoot computer problems
- Install and use applications
- Pack and ship equipment to other locations
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Ability to learn all aspects of Information Technology including (but not limited to) networking, programming, Active Directory, computer repair, operating system install, hardware management, wireless access points, VPN clients and firewalls
- Proficient in applications such as MS Office Pro and anti-virus/spam/malware products
- Successful completion of coursework in Network hardware, networking operating systems, network protocols or data communications
- Excellent verbal & written & interpersonal communication skills: must be able to establish & maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the company, vendors, contractors, and the general public
- Experience working as a team
- Highly motivated and self-directed; proactive & responsive to change; able to recognize issues and inconsistencies and bring them to the attention of the team
- Project management skills including development of project timelines, project updates, and on-time completion; being thorough, accurate, and organized
- Office 365 Admin center and Azure AD experience is a plus
AJM was founded as a manufacturer of paper and plastic products in 1957 by three (3) Detroit area brothers who eleven (11) years earlier began selling retail packaging, cleaning and office supplies and equipment and consumer disposables out of a small warehouse in Detroit's Eastern Market. Over many years, we gradually evolved from our broadline distributor beginnings into a major paper products manufacturer, today employing nearly 3,000 people and operating eight (8) manufacturing and five (5) warehouse/distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States.
