Construction Manager - Military Veterans

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Construction Manager to join the team in our Moon Township, PA office. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible, through subordinate construction personnel, for overall management direction of several construction projects.

  • Evaluate specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
  • Assembles members of organizations (supervisory, clerical, engineering, technical, field, and other workers) during projects
  • Develops an oversight budget and staffing plan for the construction oversight activities
  • Coordinates with stakeholders and subconsultants to engage in planning and execution of oversight procedures, interpreting specifications, and executing correspondence with the contractor
  • Verifies appropriate project documentation including correspondence with the contractor
  • Prepares complex correspondence to the contractor or others including responses to claim notification
  • Leads regularly scheduled Project Control Meeting with the contractor and owner
  • Oversees work in progress to ensure that workmanship, conforms with specifications and plans, adherence to schedule
  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
  • Verifies construction activities within federal, state, and local rules and regulations
  • Occasional to moderate travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • PCDS Closeout Audit Checklist - Review documentation and complete the checklist.
  • i. This review begins once the CAB Approved Final Package is uploaded to Kahua.

    ii. Approx. 25 projects reviewed and completed to date this year.


  • QA Record Retention Review (QARR) - Review project documentation and complete the QARR form on a quarterly basis. Coordinate with the projects to address missing documentation.
  • i. PTC QA is just currently completing this form at end of the job.

    ii. QARR is conducted on random items.

    PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
    • 10+ years of construction management or project management experience or other related experience within construction projects
    • Minimum of EIT or CMIT with track to obtain PE or CCM
    COMPENSATION
    The approximate compensation range for this position is $93,844-$135,504. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
