Equipment Engineer 1 - Military Veterans

Overview

Equipment Engineer is responsible for identifying and outlining the appropriate equipment and materials for each project. They work closely with the entire PMO Group and Purchasing/Supply Chain for effective procurement. The Equipment Engineer can recognize equipment and materials easily and propose solutions based on each Project Scope of Work.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and determine the appropriate Bill of Materials based on project documentation.

  • Analyze internal/external survey & design reports, be able to highlight areas of concern prior to construction kickoff.

  • Work with PMO Group & Supply Chain to efficiently procure necessary Project Materials

  • Define material budget estimates for each individual project.

  • Identify material cost changes for areas of potential cost reduction (value engineer).

  • Facilitate communication amongst suppliers with Procurement Team using defined purchasing protocols.

  • Assist in the receipt of purchased materials and services, and keep detailed records of purchases and stocks.

  • Build relationships with suppliers and understand industry changes in product alignment.

  • Maintain Approved Equipment & Materials lists for Major Wireless Operators.

  • Maintain substitutes for allocated materials for each project in the event of Supply Chain Shortages.

  • Provide technical support to construction and design teams regarding feasibility/installation issues.

  • Audit internal RF designs for feasibility. Provide feedback to Design teams regarding
    latest installation standards.

  • Occasionally provide rack elevations/fiber diagrams using Microsoft Visio.

  • Ability to work in an Office and Warehouse Environment.


Prerequisites of Qualification ~


  • Must have some prior experience/familiarity with Wireless Telecom equipment and best installation practices. Indoor DAS and/or small cell system (Spidercloud, Ericsson DOT, etc.) preferred.

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft office and /or Google Suite. Experience with Excel
    or Google Sheets, generating and troubleshooting basic/intermediate formulas a huge plus.

  • Must be able to work with ser deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail.

  • Must be a self-starter, should be able to perform basic tasks without direction.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate in a professional manner via email or phone.


Valued Experience~


  • DAS and/or Indoor Small Cell Installation experience.

  • Familiarity with testing and tooling needs for installation of various equipment.

  • Ability to generate or create excel reports from scratch based on departmental need.

  • Ability to read and understand an RFDS.

  • Able to interpret RF logical and floorplan designs.

  • Experience with Microsoft Visio.

  • Experience with iBwave is a plus.
