Location: Africa-Baledogle Air Base, Som

Job Summary: The Fuel Distribution Systems Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient monitoring and maintenance of aviation, diesel, and mogas fuels in our fuel farm tanks. This role involves performing calculations for fuel usage, initiating service orders, conducting routine logistical tasks, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The Operator will also be involved in operating automated fuel management systems, maintaining fuel terminal equipment, and may have assignments related to retail fuel systems and seaport operations.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain fuel levels in aviation, diesel, and mogas tanks.

  • Calculate and initiate service orders for fuel tank filling.

  • Prepare receiving and shipping documents for fuel shipments.

  • Gauge tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels.

  • Conduct inspections, sampling, and analysis following established policies and procedures.

  • Operate and maintain an automated fuel management system.

  • Manage a fully integrated fuel laboratory for bulk fuel operations.

  • Use a government AIS for fuel accountability and information management.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel terminal systems.

  • Operate and maintain retail fuel systems as assigned.

  • May be asked to operate and maintain fuel systems at a seaport.

  • Perform work in accordance with AR 710-2, AR 735-5, MIL STD 3004-C, APT 4-43, DA PAM 710-2-1.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in fuel distribution systems.

  • Understanding of fuel distribution operations, logistics, and maintenance.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

  • Physical ability to perform the required job functions.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
