Project Coordinator for Community-Based Services | William James College - Military Veterans

Position Summary

The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at William James College seeks a full-time Project Coordinator to provide administrative support to the CWDs community-based initiatives. The Project Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of Clinical and Community Services and will be responsible for the roles and duties described below.

Essential Functions

Provide administrative support to the CWDs community-based initiatives.

Engage in the active recruitment, interview, selection, and enrollment of program participants.

Coordinate all logistical details for group workshops and community forums and health fairs.

Actively support efforts to address program participants social determinants of health needs (e.g., ESOL, digital and financial literacy, childcare, and transportation support services).

Generate program calendars and mailing lists.

Maintain participant records in an organized and professional manner.

Work collaboratively with community-based organizations and partner agencies.

Engage in community outreach efforts to promote greater awareness of community-based initiatives.

Design and disseminate newsletters, event flyers, and program announcements.

Create social media platforms to raise awareness of the CWDs community-based programs.

Collect data and maintain databases for workforce development and community-based programs.

Foster positive and productive relationships with program participants, staff, faculty, internal departments, and external partner agencies.

Collaborate with the CWD team to develop and implement project plans and timelines.

Ensure that community-based project deliverables are high-quality and completed in a timely manner.

Perform other related administrative duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

An associate degree in psychology, social work, human services or a related field; or a minimum of one year of work-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Commitment to promoting the well-being of immigrants and other underserved populations.

Past or present engagement in community-based services with culturally diverse groups.

Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to relate well to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide excellent customer service.

Experience with building and maintaining partnerships with community-based organizations.

Ability to adapt to the culture of a mission-drive, fast-paced educational environment.

Strong organizational, project coordination, and written and oral communication skills.

Commitment to maintaining program participants privacy and confidentiality.

Knowledge of MS Word and other web-based tools as well as social media platforms.

Reliable transportation with a valid drivers license.

Preference will be given to candidates with bilingual proficiency (i.e., English and Haitian Creole). Applicants must be able to assume employment in the United States without College Sponsorship.
