About the Role:

This position will be a Lead Engineering role our Software Engineering team that is responsible for the development and support of software for our ground vehicles. This role participates in activities covering the entire software development life-cycle, from requirements development to final testing and delivery of software products.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • This role will help lead the software development effort for one of our Ground Vehicle programs.

  • Creates and maintains Software Build Plan and communicates project scope with development team.

  • Will work in collaboration with the CSCI (Computer Software Configuration Item) Leads and program management to develop schedules and establish budgets.

  • Responsible for developing Basis of Estimates (BOE) for new scope items.

  • Enters data into EVMS for software tasks, ensuring accuracy and up to date.

  • Will assist with the development and review of software documentation including Development Plans, Resource/Data Reports, Requirement Specifications, Design Descriptions and any related test documentation.

  • Development of metrics and measurable, prepares and presents status reports for management review.

  • Ensures all work conforms to software development process improvement and CMMI initiatives.

  • This role interfaces with other GDLS departments and business units including Software Quality Assurance (SWQA), Project Management Team and Systems Engineering.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sought:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with software development cycle.

Additional Information / Desired Experience
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)

  • Knowledge of CMMI preferred.

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management System a plus

  • Experience with Military Vehicle Software desired

  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Able to work overtime when required.

  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required. No sponsorship offered.

  • This position will also require the candidate to obtain a US security clearance.

  • Limited travel may be required.
