Responsibilities

The Director of Business Development plays a crucial role in driving the growth and success by spearheading strategic new business initiatives and fostering strong relationships with potential clients. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional communication skills, a keen understanding of market dynamics, and a dedication to upholding the company's values and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to support the new business development strategy
  • Identify market opportunities within assigned territory, including new service opportunities and changes or trends in client requirements.
  • Support local prospecting efforts on a weekly basis
  • Utilize the CRM platform to generate prospecting activity reports.
  • Facilitate the transition of sales relationships from the Business Development Team to the Operations Team.
  • Communicate effectively regarding the new business startup checklist process.
  • Plan and execute convention and trade show support in collaboration with Business Development Team
  • Review and analyze reports related to regional components, including financial and human resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, client contracts, and relevant laws and regulations, maintaining necessary records and reports. Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor, representing Healthcare Services Group, Inc positively during business and networking interactions.
  • Travel up to 75% as required for account/facility visits and participation in regional activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in management or related field preferred or equivalent with a proven track record of success in Sales and Business Development.
  • Two years of experience in business development, preferably in a service industry. Long term care or Skilled Nursing industry experience a plus.
  • Self-starter, capable of leading, directing, and supporting a team in a diverse environment with highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
  • Successful P&L and budgetary management; exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of growing accounts.
  • Must be able to relate professionally and positively with staff and healthcare facility executives utilizing excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and management skills.
  • Travel is as required, for account/facility visits and participation in Regional activities.
  • Willingness to relocate and live in the assigned market.
  • Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Strong negotiation skills and basic knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, floor care, and dining contracted service programs/industry
  • Skilled in motivating District Managers and Account Managers in a positive fashion.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping, laundry and floor care and dining program requirements a plus
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of Housekeeping and Laundry and Dining program finances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.
