Distribution Center Warehouse Associate

 

The Distribution Center (DC) warehouse associate while working safely will be responsible for all functions of the DC, including but not limited to, loading and unloading, order picking and processing, driving heavy equipment including forklifts, and ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained throughout the DC.

 

How You Will Fit In

 

  • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and harnesses or seatbelts while driving equipment
  • Responsible for daily safety checks of equipment
  • Loading and unloading delivery trucks, including physically moving inventory items weighing over 75 pounds
  • Receive and stock merchandise using handheld scanner with a high degree of accuracy
  • Operate powered industry vehicles (Forklifts, Man-up Order Selectors and Floor Scrubbers) in a safe manner
  • Maintain integrity of products through proper handling and storage
  • Responsible for processing orders via paper and handheld scanner
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts
  • Assists in retread center activities as assigned
  • Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment in compliance with OSHA and company directives, using safety first practices to remain accident-free
  • Perform routine facilities maintenance and/or housekeeping tasks
  • Ensure facility and company assets are properly secured and maintained to ensure operational readiness
  • Maintain personal grooming and company uniform standards
  • Maintain company attendance standards
  • Execute company policies, procedures and programs in a professional, effective and timely manner

    Typical Skills and Demands

     

    • Ability to learn and operate all facility equipment including computers, forklifts and retreading machinery
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Perform basic arithmetic functions: add, subtract, multiply and divide
    • Can-do attitude, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic
    • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and working from elevated surfaces
    • Frequently lift and/or move over 75 pounds
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision

     

    Work Environment

     

    While performing these duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally, the employee will also be exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. While performing these duties, the employee may be exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, etc.
