Intern - Marketing - Military Veterans

Responsible for primarily supporting the Senior Manager Strategic Marketing with the regional marketing activities and communications. The ideal candidate will assist to implement marketing plans that increase brand awareness within specific regions, engage with local media and industry events, and support the creation of targeted communication materials that aligns corporate objectives with business sector plans. This internship offers hands-on experience with regional marketing strategies and the opportunity to participate in real-world initiatives in a collaborative environment.

Job Duties/Roles:

  • Supports the implementation of an effective marketing strategy as directed by the Senior Manager Strategic Marketing aligned to business sector campaigns with corporate branding and messaging strategy.
  • Provides support for the execution of regional events. Event engagements include, but are not limited to, industry conferences, trade shows, thought leadership opportunities, client and industry engagements.
  • Conduct market research to identify competition and target audience preferences.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns and communications.
  • Collaborate with the regional/wider marketing team to create promotional materials and content for social media platforms.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide insights for improvement.
  • Support the marketing department in daily administrative tasks and coordinate with other departments to ensure a cohesive brand message.
  • Liaises with vendors of print, production, graphics, promotional items and trade show services.
  • Responsible for demonstrating a commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement, identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of clients and being open and responsive to change.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, team skills and attention to detail.
  • Strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Some hands-on experience planning and executing events of various sizes.
  • Able to apply strong problem-solving and organization skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously concurrently.
  • Proven time management skills which demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Needs to be familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
Required/Preferred Education Requirements
  • Undergraduate in Marketing, or related discipline
