Job Description:

The University of Saint Joseph is seeking applications for a 9 month, full-time, visiting faculty member our Department of counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies to teach in our CACREP-accredited in-person clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs and engage in in scholarly work and service to the Department, University, and community. The position is scheduled to begin in August 2024.

The successful candidate will join a student-centered learning community where diversity is valued and focused efforts are being made toward equity and inclusivity and to continually create a supportive professional learning environment for all members.

Candidates with a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated in their teaching, scholarship, and service, are encouraged to apply. Candidates of diverse ethnicities and identities and candidates with a range of counseling and teaching experience are encouraged. Candidates with both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

Completion of an earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program or ABD with completion of doctoral degree by the starting date

Clinical and teaching experience germane to the position are preferred

Licensed/Certified or eligible as an LPC or School Counselor in Connecticut

Commitment to an outcome-oriented curriculum designed to prepare students for competent counseling practice

Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population

Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph

Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
