Where You Will Work   

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will be performed out of our Project Office location, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. Employees working on a flexible schedule collaborate online and in-person at our Collaboration Hub at the Cotton Center in Phoenix. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. 

  

Phoenix is the capital of the Grand Canyon State and enjoys mostly bright skies throughout the year. Description

As a technical leader, provide guidance, expertise and mentorship for engineering projects, technical challenges and programs. Defines and drives leading practice and transfer of technical expertise and knowledge. Contributes subject matter expertise in a relevant discipline as needed to improve outcomes, projects, and programs. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in planning, organizing and guiding complex programs and activities. Interprets theory and practice to Sr Leadership to aid in decision making. Identifies solutions and makes recommendations based on technical expertise and opinion.

  • Leads, reviews, investigates, and develops appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects and/or technical challenges within specific technical discipline and across adjacent disciplines.                                                                       
  • Actively aligns engineering efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and contribute to the development of long-term technical strategies.
  • Communicates with others such that it leads to influence and change in strategy and execution. Clear and effective communicator to lay and expert audiences alike, and within the technical discipline.  
  • Consistently demonstrates exceptional technical skills and expertise, making significant contributions to complex projects.
  • Identifies and solves challenging technical problems, driving valuable outcomes.
  • Actively participates in relevant industry events, conferences, training – staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends and recommending new practices or changes to programs based on state of practice developments.
  • Leads, collaborates and influence site and/or project management regarding strategy and execution of engineering projects and in addressing technical challenges to ensure standards are met and improvements are implemented.
  • Identifies and promotes opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, products or systems and evaluates opportunities in terms of readiness, suitability, and risk.
  • Identifies opportunities and provides input for strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
  • Acts as a mentor, coach and guide for developing talent to achieve objectives across multiple disciplines. Motivates peers and team members. 
  • Perform other duties as requested.
     

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and ten (10) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and eight (8) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
  • PhD in Engineering or related engineering discipline and six (6) years of experience in related engineering field.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusion
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

 

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $130,000-$182,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process. Click here to view a sample of Total Rewards Estimate for this role.
