The University of Rochester's Office for Equity & Inclusion is looking for an experienced and dedicated Affirmative Action Program Director to lead our efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across our staff community.

As the Affirmative Action Program Director , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity objectives while also driving transformative change to our university culture. You will work closely with the AVP for Civil Rights and Compliance to develop strategic initiatives that go beyond mere compliance, aiming to create an environment where all individuals feel valued and empowered to thrive.

Your responsibilities will encompass strategic leadership, AAP data analysis, reporting and evaluation, along with compliance.

This includes developing and strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Office of Disability Resources, Veterans Alliance, and Human Resources to ensure accessibility and access to career pathways for all individuals. Moreover, you will forge new relationships with external organizations and programs to address underutilization and underrepresentation effectively.

You will be instrumental in analyzing and reporting on data related to Affirmative Action efforts, providing valuable insights into our progress and areas for improvement. Your expertise in evaluating the effectiveness of our Affirmative Action plan will guide us in overcoming barriers and achieving our goals related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Our ideal candidate will have :

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience related to Affirmative Action, preferably within the higher education sector.

A deep understanding of federal and state laws concerning civil rights, discrimination, and Affirmative Action, along with the ability to navigate complex issues within diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
