We seek a qualified Senior Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA to join our team. 

 

Active DoD Secret security clearance or eligibility to achieve interim Secret.   

 

Job Summary: 

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, model-based systems engineering of critical Naval cross-domain mission threads, and cybersecurity engineering of the next-generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. Decision Technologies seeks motivated individuals with broad skillsets and experience who can demonstrate a history of achievement in engineering services for the Navy and the larger DoD.


Position Description:

  • Review, assess, and develop engineering processes for Navy-related programs and projects  
  • Analyze and author technical papers describing missions, tactics, equipment, interfaces, and resource allocations to new and developing systems and programs. 
  • Provide support with developing requirements, architectures, models, analysis of alternatives, trade studies, and other Systems Engineering documentation. 
  • Develop functional analysis of capabilities to include consistent application of policies, requirements, standards, and processes. 
  • Investigate and evaluate risk management, configuration management, human systems integration, and life cycle support processes and generate Systems Engineering CDRLs. 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Six years of experience in Government related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs. 
  • Four years of relevant HSI experience in at least 3 of the following areas:  
    1. Comparative multi-domain Systems Engineering analysis, impact assessments, and trade-off studies of complex systems.  
    2. Design, installation, integration, and test support in a laboratory or direct applications.  
    3. Design documentation/specification development.  
    4. Test planning and IV&V procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting.  
    5. HSI-related engineering requirements, performance, and risk analysis.  
    6. Applying SE principles to investigate, analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate systems.   
    7. Applying engineering experience to perform system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, acquisition, training, and resource management functions.   
    8. Conducting Task Analyses (e.g., Mission Task Analysis, Functional Analysis, Critical Task Analysis).   
    9. Design, installation, integration, and test support in laboratory or operational systems.  
    10. Understand Naval operations from unit level through operational staff and headquarters planning.   
  • Bachelor of Science in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. Examples include: 
    1. Applied Math, Applied Physics, Operational Research, Modeling and Simulation, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Naval Architecture OR ABET Accredited BS degree from ABET-recognized engineering curriculum. Examples include ME/EE/IE/CSE                                                                  

 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior DoD/DoN experience with a strong background in DoD systems and DoD networks  
  • Familiarity with MagicDraw, Cameo, or other systems modeling tools  

 

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% to various Naval activity centers, including Washington, DC, Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, Denver, CO, and Hawaii.
