Responsibilities

About the Role

We have a strategic focus on digitization of our business. The Distinguished Principal - Digital Domain Architect will be laser-focused on guiding the architectural direction of our digital systems, leveraging modern technology to deliver superior customer experiences which help to maintain industry-leading customer satisfaction. In this role, you will:

  • Drive marketing technology reference architecture and technical roadmap in alignment with product , engineering , marketing strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • You provide significant input into technology strategy and road-map; keep up to date on key technology trends and their applied use by in financial services with emphasis on digital solutions and interact with various business partners (both internal and external) to assist in the design and implementation of business applications leveraging architectural standards
  • You advise teams of application and solution architects focused on delivery of digital applications and act as a mentor providing guidance to all team members on technical and architectural issues
  • You participate in the development and maintenance of architectural standards company wide, including patterns, reference architectures, and best practices and ensure adherence to architectural governance routines
  • You perform other duties as assigned and conform with all company policies and procedures
  • You possess strong knowledge of IT operations and support organizations and experience with UML Design Tools and advanced technical writing
  • You perform data-driven solution design, integrated customer experiences and enterprise patterns , leveraging Adobe marketing stack and other marketing tools
Reporting Relationship
  • Reports to: SVP Global Chief Architect
  • Direct Reports: Dotted-line to all Solution Architects in the office of the Chief Digital Officer
Qualifications

What makes you a dream candidate?
  • Advanced knowledge writing system and user specifications/documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of software design and modeling, and associated tools
  • Advanced knowledge of current application design patterns (eg micro-services, API, etc)
  • Advanced knowledge of human-centered design, including design-thinking
  • Experience working with modern MarTech stacks, specifically Adobe marketing stack.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Greater than 5 years of corporate management experience with increasing architectural responsibility in large enterprises required
  • 5+ years architecting solutions in multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud environments required
  • 5+ years architecting digital solutions for customers required
  • 8+ years working in a highly regulated business domain such as financial services or health care preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY

GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada.  In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015.  In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.

 

GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
