Job Summary

Focusing on beneficial electrification, leads the launch of new programs or solutions, anticipating key trends for the future of the company and the sector, quantifying their evolution and impact, and ensuring that they are included in the company's decision-making processes. Defines the company's position on issues related to beneficial electrification and represents the company in regulatory proceedings. Leads research initiatives to help inform beneficial electrification adoption and load forecasts. Represents the company with key stakeholders on topics related to beneficial electrification.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning:

  • Supports the development and ongoing review of multi-year strategic plans focusing on beneficial electrification
  • Monitors emerging trends and evolving technology, evaluating and understanding the implications for inclusion in strategies and customer solutions
  • Supports beneficial electrification strategy and proposals for United Illuminating regulatory proceedings
  • Business Case Development and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develops and executes strategies to garner internal and external stakeholder support
  • Represent United Illuminating in electric transportation and other beneficial electrification working groups
  • Works with cross functional teams to forecast and plan for system impacts of beneficial electrification and develops solutions to manage those impacts

Regulatory Filing Support:
  • Performs analysis, business case preparation and testimony in support of regulatory matters
  • Liaises as necessary with state and federal regulatory agencies on beneficial electrification related matters

Program Oversight:
  • Supports the establishment and formation of appropriate structure and resources in support of individual beneficial electrification related projects
  • Leads or provides oversight of specific projects in the beneficial electrification portfolio
  • Produces briefings and status reports on a regular basis for AVANGRID executives and, as necessary, regulatory agencies and other key stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years relevant experience or 2 years of beneficial electrification experience.
  • Experience leading implementation of complex initiatives
  • Experience in business case development and benefits capture
  • Experience in the development, communication, and execution of strategy
  • Track record of achieving results
  • Ability to work within a matrix environment, including geographically dispersed team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and understanding of utility operations and customer interaction
  • Experience in regulatory environments including filings, testimony, and support of proceedings
  • General understanding of emerging beneficial electrification technologies

Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
