International Licensing Manager - Military Veterans

King Features, a unit of Hearst is looking for an International Licensing Manager to join our active Licensing Team. This role is responsible for the effective management and growth of the Int'l Licensing division. Supporting both owned and represented IP in the ever-evolving entertainment landscape, the manager must leverage a strategic and a creative skillset, taking a global approach to our rich portfolio of brands.

The role is based out of New York City and schedule will be hybrid (split between remote and 3 days in-office workdays).

Supporting Territories: International

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • International Agent & Licensee Management
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with Int'l Agents including onboarding, contract negotiation, identifying opportunities, and general support.
  • Route deal memos and contracts, provide monthly contract status update, and data entry into contracts system
  • Draft and process deal memos for renewals, new deals and work with the Legal department on contract development, process organization and execution
  • Coordiante and gather quarterly forecasts from direct licensees/Agents and assist in analyzing them to help effectively manage the budget.
  • New Business Support:
  • Assist SVP in driving new business by identifying new Int'l licensing opportunities and prospecting, pitching and negotiating with potential partners
  • Responsible for analyzing the business, staying apprised of competitive and marketplace trends
  • Conduct gap analysis and drive growth strategy for categories of business
  • Provide product and Int'l licensee information to the marketing team to support retail meetings and presentations
  • Cross-department collaboration and liaising with Legal, Creative, Marketing, Social, PR and Finance departments
  • Ideate, create and present targeted presentations to pitch, support or launch licensing programs or specific category areas
  • Assist in preparing and presenting decks and pitches at various internal and external meetings, trade shows, advertising, events and line reviews.
  • Provide general support, including but not limited to, maintenance of logs, meeting scheduling with Int'l Agents, and other general Int'l duties, such as gathering documents for trademark application support and licensing projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Identify priority partners and coordinate creative kickoff calls with the Marketing Team.
  • Provide product and Int'l licensee information to the Marketing Team to support retail meetings and presentations.
  • Regularly communicate pertinent information to management and internal team members to keep them apprised of brand/territory performance.
  • General Cross-department collaboration with liaising with Legal, Creative, Marketing, Social, PR and Finance departments.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • B.A/B.S College Degree
  • 1-3 years of work experience preferred
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Team Player, self-starter and Relationship builder
  • Capable of working independently and managing a variety of initiatives / opportunities simultaneously
  • Strong relationship building skills, flexible and adaptable; able to collaborate, influence, and persuade at all levels of an organization, both internal and external
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Mediabox and DRM experience is a plus
  • Foreign Language a plus

The estimated base salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 . The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This role requires the position to be located in New York, NY with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
