Mechanical Instrumentation Specialist - Military Veterans

Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety, reliability, flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers.  Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Provide CQC analytical and gas purification systems technical support for Electronics customer Carrier Gas locations for Bulk supply and On site gas generation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform instrument calibration and maintenance

  • Perform analysis of liquid (vapor-phase) cryogenics and high pressure gas storage systems

  • Setup analytical instruments, facilitate testing of systems and create test reports or certificates of analysis

  • Comply with all applicable HS&E Standards including, but not limited to: PPE, Forklift Operations, Lock Out/Tag Out Program, Confined Space Entry, etc

  • Ensure customer analytical results reporting for product delivery is completed on time and with zero defects

  • Generate and maintain site-specific Standard Operating Procedures

  • Routinely communicate with customers or internal operations teams

  • Direct, and work closely with, contractors and monitor and direct contractor work quality

  • Provide “On Call” assistance at other Air Liquide plants or customer sites as needed

  • Support the operation, commissioning, start-up and shut-down of analytical instruments, utilities and interconnects

  • Complete PM’s as required in computerized maintenance management system (Maximo)

Are you a MATCH?

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ years experience in a technical field

  • General understanding of gas system analysis such as leak detection, moisture and oxygen analysis

  • Experience in the semiconductor or chemical/specialty gas field, military technical/electronic rating or nuclear field, or equivalent industry

  • General awareness of gasses and gas safety

  • Ability to grasp state of the art analytical techniques and equipment

  • Ability to troubleshoot sources of contamination or impurities in gas systems

  • Ability to understand P&ID’s 

  • Good electro-mechanical aptitude

  • Display aptitude for working an emergency/high stress situation and performing problem solving actions properly and safely

  • 20-30% travel required

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhats, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing

  • Physical demands associated with this position include ability to perform tasks which involve standing or sitting for extended periods, climbing and work at heights using ladders, maneuvering and loading equipment using a lift gate and transporting equipment by work truck to customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree

  • Gas Chromatography experience

  • Gas Purification experience

The Salary rate range for this position in Oregon is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00
