CIC Senior Finance & New Product Development Associate - Military Veterans

Summary:

The CIC Senior Finance and New Product Development Associate will be responsible for new business finance, financial reporting, accounting policy, financial and tax strategy of the CIC division of Huntington Bank. This role will work to ensure proper internal and external reporting of business unit metrics and forecasting for CIC. Please note: preferred location is St. Louis, MO and open to hybrid work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of new products and services along with researching the financial and tax issues associated with these.
• Collaborates with the Huntington Commercial Bank Finance Team (HCBFT) in assembling and overseeing CIC's annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts while seeking to identify opportunities to meet or exceed CDLI’s annual financial plan to CIC Leadership.
• Collaborating with HCBFT and Huntington accounting teams, along with the HCIC business lines, to understand CIC financial performance and impact on Huntington GAAP financial statements.
• Prepare advanced short and long-term financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
• Works with the Huntington Tax Team to understand annual state and federal tax liabilities and proposes the appropriate amount of tax credits that HCIC could deliver to offset.
• Explores and communicates various ways to offset Huntington’s state tax credit liabilities.
• Ensures proper accounting and tracking of K-1’s.
• Understands the impact of HCIC operations on key financial metrics (Public Welfare Investment test, pre-tax pre-provision income, net income after tax, CET1 ratio, operating leverage, tax credit carryforward, etc.) and assesses the short and long-term planning on these metrics.
• Collaborates with Huntington accounting policy team to establish, modify, and refine accounting policy related to tax credit investments and community development loans.
• Interfaces with the Huntington Legal Department for various legal issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 5+ years of related accounting, finance or tax work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Community development finance and prior affordable housing tax credit experience
• CPA
• Commercial real estate lending and/or investing experience
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
