This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12K for a person with a TS/SCI security clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon Intelligence & Space.

Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

  • Object-oriented Java programming
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain new software functionality
  • Ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
  • Ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems
  • Enthusiastic and energetic performer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and sometimes pressured environment
  • Team player incorporating a team-based success philosophy
  • Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
  • Ability to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
  • Location is State College, PA

Required Experience:

  • An active and transferable TS/SCI US government issued security clearance prior to start date
  • Experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment and using unit testing tools (e.g. JUnit)
  • Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
  • Experience with software execution throughout the entire software life cycle
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Proficiency in DevOps technologies such as Puppet, Chef, and Docker
  • Experience with agile software methodologies such as Scrum
  • Ability to design software modules using an object-oriented approach.
  • Ability to provide direct customer interaction for the purpose of conveying software design decisions and/or performing software installation support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience using Ansible
  • Experience using Jenkins
  • Experience using the Atlassian tool suite
  • Experience with the Spring Framework
  • Practical experience with specific technologies such as databases, distributed architectures, web-based technologies, cloud technology, user interfaces/portals, and familiarity with software design/implementation tools.

Education Requirements:

This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred.  Other STEM degrees or experience with a heavy object-oriented software emphasis would be considered.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
