The Division of Infectious Diseases at Houston Methodist is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease Physician to join its Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group for Baytown Hospital. Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital is a 392 licensed bed hospital, located 35 miles southeast of Houston. It is the area's only full-service hospital offering specialized medical care for patients at every stage in life with 18 operating rooms, and over 1,400 employees.
The Division of Infectious Diseases at Houston Methodist is an expanding academic unit, part of the Department of Medicine and currently includes 13 clinical faculty, two nurse practitioners, 4 PharmD/PhD scientists with sections of General Infectious Diseases and Immunocompromised hosts. An expanding group of Infectious Disease Pharmacists support the Division and antibiotic stewardship programs across all Houston Methodist Campuses. The research arm of the Division includes the Center for Infectious Diseases located in the Houston Methodist Research Institute leveraging initiatives launched during the pandemic with faculty in the Departments of Medicine (Division of Infectious Diseases and Critical care), Pathology and Genomic Medicine, Infection Prevention and Control, Pharmacy, the Center for Outcomes Research, and the Cockrell Center for Advanced Therapeutics. A robust portfolio of NIH-funded studies in basic, translational and clinical science is currently conducted by faculty in the Center.
