Position Purpose:
The Mechanical Supervisor will ensure that all mechanical issues are followed up on to maintain equipment reliability and minimize plant downtime

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

  • Ensure that established company policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Ensure strict Maintenance management including wearing of PPE, Building Maintenance, PM's, Backlog and Active Work Order completion.
  • Track daily, weekly, monthly and annual logs for accuracy and detail.
  • Ensure the follow- up on all annual inspections of various equipment at our facility.
  • Ensure rigorous management on the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Manage mechanical subcontractors onsite.
  • Manage and hold the team of mechanics to work standards
  • Create and lead the Health and Safety MSA as well as the monthly Health and Safety Committee.
  • Manage and follow up on all Preventive Maintenance activities.
  • Manage and perform mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Follow up on the implementation of all work orders in VAM's (CMMS System)
  • Follow up on all change requests in VAM's (CMMS System)
  • Monitor monthly mechanical warehouse stock outs and mechanical cost.
  • Participate in innovation as the mechanical System Matter Expert.
  • Planning the use of subcontractors for scheduled and emergency work.
  • Ensure inventory management of parts and operating equipment are checked out under Veolia policy.
  • Have quotes prepared for equipment repair and purchases as directed by management in accordance with Veolia Bid Process.
  • Work Closely with I&E, Heavy Equipment Divisions and Operations Department to maintain high plant output.
  • Any other duties assigned.
Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:
  • High school diploma or other related training
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Supervision experience of a team of 10 or more (Preferred)
  • Relevant experience managing personnel in a unionized work environment
