Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Network Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure the architecture and design of the customer's information systems are functional and secure.  

• Provide system or network designs that encompass multiple computers and networks to include those with differing data protections/classification requirements.

• Develops test and integration plans for new systems and software to ensure compatibility with current IT infrastructure.  

• Provides operational support and maintenance, when necessary, to ensure systems functionality, availability, security, and performance.

• Ensures all systems meet or exceed the business and security requirements in accordance with DOD directives and guidelines.

• Prepares technical documentation, to include standard operating procedures and processes as well as Visio diagrams

• Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity.

• Administers and maintains classified networks and telecommunication systems and services to ensure optimum performance and availability.

• Maintains technical proficiency in new IT technologies; keeps abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations to improve or advance services and system performance.

• Communicates all computer network, system and service problems and outages immediately to the appropriate chain of command

Basic Qualifications:

• DoD 8570.1 / DoD 8140.01 (IAT II Level) certification

• DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or similar field of study) and have 7+ years’ experience with information networks and related security concerns; or a Master's degree with 5+ years’ experience. Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements

• Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems and software, VMware technology suite and Linux

• Experience with VMware datacenter solutions for enclaves, multitenancy, high availability and disaster recovery

• Experience with RMF and DODAF 2.0 documentation standards and Change Management process

• Professional level MS, Linux, VMware, or cloud certifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision 

Security Clearance Requirements:

• US Citizenship and active TS clearance is required.  SCI eligibility highly desired. Willingness to submit for CI Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
