GENERAL PURPOSE:The Senior Director of Store Project Planning and Execution is responsible for leading the execution of the New Store Opening program and/or capital projects in Existing Ross and dd's stores, such as Remodels and Special projects. This role is responsible for strategic planning, developing budgets, and working closely with GVP, SVP, EVP level leaders in Store Operations and with (but not limited to) Stores, Store Planning and Design, Fixture Purchasing, Loss Prevention, IT, Construction, Property Development, Facilities, Transportation, Marketing, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, and Merchandising / Signage partners. In this capacity the Senior Director will be responsible for driving execution of capital projects by demonstrating effective strategic planning and project management, vendor and contract management, budgeting and forecasting, process management and cost control, problem solving, and executive level communications. This role will lead a team of Directors, Project Managers, Project Coordinators and On-Site Representatives (both full-time and contract employees).
The base salary range for this role is $143,500 - $270,100. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads and develops a team of high performing associates with a focus on execution, project management, problem solving, and process management.
- Ensures an ongoing focus on improving processes and tools to ensure all projects are completed on-time, on-budget and with high quality; consistently prioritizes work and maintains a high degree of flexibility to maximize productivity and results.
- Partners and influences in collaboration with Store and Corporate business partners and vendors to plan and execute capital projects in New and/or Existing Ross and dd's stores, including project scoping, pricing, purchasing, and reporting. Supports ad-hoc discretionary requests and projects in stores as required.
- Is the lead partner for senior field leaders (SVP/RVP) on all New and/or Existing store capital projects and troubleshooting. In this role is the first responder and primary source of communication and executive updates and is responsible for building consensus on all changes, issues, and rollout plans.
- Sources and maintains a portfolio of fixture installation and special projects vendors. Responsible for all contracts, pricing, and performance management.
- Owns and maintains expense and capital budgets associated with all related New and / or Existing store capital projects and initiatives. Ensures all expenditures and forecasts are accurate and aligned with Company policies and procedures.
- Supports annual Capital planning and provides fixture-related implementation, costing and project planning expertise for all store prototype and capital project planning.
- Support other activities in Store Operations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- BA/BS required; MBA preferred
- 5-7 years of Store Operations experience; experience leading store/retail capital projects is preferred
- 5-7 years leading teams in Corporate or Multi-Unit settings
- 5-7 years of Project Management/PMO experience
- 5-7 years of developing and maintaining capital budgets, project cost forecasts and project cost reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor contracts and relationships, line-item bids, commitment letters, negotiations, and all other administrative processes required to facilitate capital project execution and fixture installation projects
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project
- Travel and in-store work as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. This position requires the ability to use a computer, work as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
