The University of Chicago's Neuroscience Institute and Department of Anesthesia & Critical Care invite applications at any rank for tenured or tenure track faculty. The University of Chicago is engaged in a major expansion in neuroscienceand offers a rich intellectual environment with abundant opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration, both within and outside the Neuroscience Institute, including the Grossman Center for Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior, the Institute for Translational Medicine, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. We are particularly interested in applicants exploring neurobiological mechanisms underlying pain, drug action, addiction, sleep, and cognition. The appointee will have access to graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs. Other duties will include teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level and supervision of students and trainees. Candidates must have an MD, a PhD in neuroscience or a closely related field, or their international equivalent.
