Position Specific Description
Are you interested in developing green hydrogen infrastructure at scale with the world's largest renewable energy developer? Do you have a passion for project development and complex problem solving in the rapidly growing hydrogen industry? Join NextEra's Hydrogen team, which is responsible for concept development through construction of renewable energy, hydrogen production, and downstream conversion infrastructure.
This role specifically focuses on full-scope development of hydrogen production terminals in SPP & MISO. Candidates will be responsible for executing on the NextEra Hydrogen strategy by identifying and securing sites, advancing key development milestones (load studies, permits, etc.), and securing management approvals for a project to obtain a Final Investment Decision.
The successful candidate will leverage their experience in developing industrial and/or renewable energy projects, analyzing deregulated power markets, negotiating with internal & external stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a large organization, and solving unique challenges related to scaling new technologies.

Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic sites to support development of hydrogen infrastructure to support overall NextEra Hydrogen strategy & offtake requests
- Interface with power structuring, engineering, construction, and operations teams to optimize project specifications
- Advance and secure key development milestones by managing consultants, interfacing with internal resources (environmental, engineering, transmission), and engaging external stakeholders
- Effectively communicate with internal teams to secure funding and approvals to advance and support project development
- Support requests for proposals, grant applications, joint ventures, and other commercial opportunities
- Drive product development of hydrogen electrolysis, liquefaction, ammonia production, synthetic fuels, and other processes to expand NextEra product offering for clean fuels and chemicals
- Advance product logistics strategy with internal stakeholders and external partners for transportation of hydrogen and derivative products by truck, rail, ocean vessel, and pipeline
Position Specific Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in development of hydrogen projects OR ammonia, refining, LNG, or combined cycle gas project development
- 5+ years of experience in the energy sector
- Proven experience in deploying and scaling new technologies or executing on $100MM+ energy infrastructure projects
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline

- Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, thirdparties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
