The Leonard Davis School of Gerontology seeks a Development Coordinator to support its development and alumni relations operations, which encompass major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, and alumni engagement.  They will coordinate a variety of advancement projects and activities, ensures adherence to the University??s gift processes and policies, and maintains current information about USC Leonard Davis?? constituents and fundraising initiative. The oldest and largest school of gerontology in the nation, USC Leonard Davis promotes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of aging and provides vital services to the Los Angeles community.  Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Advancement, the Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the fundraising operations in alignment with the school??s strategic priorities. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides proactive support for the Senior Associate Dean and two gift officers. Utilizes University Advancement reporting and tracking tools to track annual and overall progress toward fundraising goals as well as fundraising performance metrics, including monthly contacts with donors and submitted proposals. Runs, analyzes, and monitors pre-programmed reports available on the Cognos reporting menu and requests customized queries as needed; assists Davis team in accessing and utilizing these tools; and acts as a liaison between Davis and central Advancement for data and list requests. Designs and creates vehicles, tools, and strategies for timely information sharing among the USC Leonard Davis advancement team; partners with Senior Associate Dean to present advancement data of interest to Dean, school colleagues, Board of Councilors, and constituents. Prepares briefings for Dean and Senior Associate Dean prior to meeting with key donors; coordinates with the central prospect research team as needed. Works with the Senior Associate Dean to monitor the management of USC Leonard Davis donors and prospects as they move through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship stages and interpret data reporting and analytics to produce actionable, specific strategies to increase fundraising activities and results, and evaluate individual fundraising performance. Helps identify new prospects for inclusion in gift officer portfolios by analyzing giving patterns and researching funding sources. Assists the USC Leonard Davis advancement team in maintaining up-to-date contact reports, prospect strategies, and proposals and in responding to requests from senior management. Coordinates with Davis staff and central advancement to ensure biographical and other updates are communicated on a timely and regular basis; maintains a variety of involvement codes on Davis constituents. Serves as a liaison between USC Leonard Davis and central Advancement Services staff in gift processing, prospect research, relationship management, information management, etc. Assists in preparation and submission of gift and grant proposals; supports direct mail campaigns. Helps prepare and route gift agreements for approval and execution. Processes and acknowledges all gifts within 24 hours of arrival. Reviews Daily Contribution Report for Davis to ensure accuracy of booked gifts; coordinates any action needed with central gift processing and stewardship offices. Informs and implements donor stewardship strategies. Assists with planning donor and volunteer meetings and gatherings, including receptions, dinners, fundraising events (e.g. annual golf tournament), retreats, scholarship luncheons, Board of Councilors meetings; provides support for volunteer activities. Assists in budget administration. Gathers facts, figures used to develop a budget. Tracks and reconciles budget activity. Provides forecasts and projections as needed. Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum of two years of experience supporting advancement operations in a campaign environment; understanding of principles and techniques related to donor engagement, from annual giving to major gifts to corporate and foundation relations Bachelor??s degree or combined experience and education as a substitute Project management experience Skilled user of Microsoft Office Suite, including knowledge of data, set manipulation with Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables Knowledge of basic database queries; familiarity with Cognos and Salesforce a plus Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in an active work environment with shifting needs and priorities  Customer service orientation; ability to work collaboratively with team members Accuracy and attention to detail Document design, formatting and layout skills as well as web publishing and e-newsletter distribution experience will be appreciated Development or market research experience a plus Professional experience in higher education is preferred Demonstration of integrity, positive attitude, and diplomacy, tact and courtesy Able to work well in advancement services functions and respond to colleagues across campus Benefits include a competitive salary, a rich array of USC benefits including healthcare (including dental and vision), 403(b), tuition reimbursement, national holidays, paid time off, and many more.
