USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Per Diem Staff Perfusionist. The Per Diem Staff Perfusionist provides all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult patients, operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation necessary to support or replace a patient??s own cardiopulmonary and circulatory functions and induces and reverses hypothermia and hyperthermia. The Per Diem Staff Perfusionist also writes, collects, and maintains documentation for each case, and ensures maintenance of all equipment and quality control. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical trainingMinimum Experience: 6 - 12 months, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Graduate from school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or its predecessor, the American Medical Association Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Certified Clinical Perfusionist certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses, and maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for CPR, basic life support and/or basic cardio life support. Demonstrated attention to details, and excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
