Augsburg University's Doctoral of Nursing Practice Program has two tracks: Transcultural/Leadership and Family Nurse Practitioner. This Instructor of Nursing position is a full-time, 9 months, non-tenure track position teaching courses primarily in the Family Nurse Practitioner track of the Doctoral Program, as well as other courses in the DNP-FNP track of study. The position will begin August 2023. Teaching requirements include the facilitation of graduate nursing courses in various formats, from face-to-face classroom settings at the main campus location in Minneapolis to teaching hybrid (synchronous and asynchronous) courses using Zoom technology. Instructors teach a 7-course workload, typically divided between fall and spring semesters. However, teaching opportunities could include teaching during the summer semester. This position may require travel to clinical sites for student site visits if you are assigned a clinical section as one of your workloads. Student advising is also expected, along with committee assignments within the department and participation in the larger University community. Faculty Teaching Expectations Use effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques, as well as create an environment conducive to learning. Create a high level of student engagement through classroom activities and student-centered learning Clarity, relevance, and connection of class session objectives to the course and program outcomes that align with the AACN Essentials Organized classroom and efficient use of class time. Demonstrate mastery of content and ability to articulate and relate to students Play an integral role in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessment for the FNP students Provide student support that facilitates the success of students with faculty availability to students in all courses through effective communication and meetings to help students achieve the learning objectives of their course(s). Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing (currently enrolled in a Doctoral program) Licensed as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in the state of Minnesota or eligible for FNP licensure in Minnesota. Licensed and unencumbered registered nurse in the State of Minnesota or eligible for RN licensure in Minnesota. Clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner Teaching experience at a college or graduate level education Preferred Qualifications Doctoral Degree in Nursing Two years of teaching experience in online, hybrid, and/or in-person formats in a Family Nurse Practitioner Program Five years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
