A storm chaser conducts meteorological coverage of storms in the field. This information is vital for accurate weather forecasting and warnings.
Duties
- Collect video using station authorized equipment and report live on the air current conditions. Relay to station Meteorologists storm activity, with details such as the severity and direction of a storm from the ground.
- Monitor weather reports for expected severe conditions in the region.
- Take video of severe weather for on-air and digital viewing.
There are no fixed working hours due to the unpredictability of weather patterns. When directed by station Meteorologist or News management you will report to assigned area for coverage.
