State of Michigan Department of Corrections
The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) is a principal department in state government tasked with the supervision of convicted felons in the State of Michigan. Our mission is to protect Michigan’s citizens by holding offenders accountable while promoting their success. The MDOC has over 30 prisons throughout the state and has nearly 13,000 employees making it the state’s biggest employer. We have careers in a variety of professions beyond law enforcement including healthcare, food service, human resources, and even the trades. The MDOC is a Gold-Level Veteran Friendly Employer with nearly 12% of our workforce being veterans or individuals still serving in a reserve component.
