IHS offers health professionals three distinct career paths — You can maintain your military retirement benefits by choosing the US Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps; receive a comprehensive compensation and benefits package through the federal civil service; or work for and negotiate benefits directly with a Tribal or Urban Indian Program.
