Impact of the Role

General Profile

• Manages professional employees and/or supervisors
• Must have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct report
• Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty

• Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers

• Manages the development and implementation of industrial manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
• Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively.
• Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process.
• Implements effective manufacturing engineering methods and provides technical guidance and acts as a resource for manufacturing engineers.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
• Manages the evaluation of products based on specifications and quality standards.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.


Required Qualifications


• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications


• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. 5S methodology. As-Is analysis. Manufacturing Engineering. Failure analysis. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Integrity engineering. Lean manufacturing. Process integration. Production engineering. Rapid prototyping. Statistical process control. Value engineering. Workflow optimization. Workload analysis. CAD software. Computer-aided engineering (CAE) software. Oral and written communication. Critical thinking. Analytical thinking.

Physical Requirements


• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
