Job Description:
Iowa State University Football is accepting applications for an experienced Quality Control Analyst/Coaching Assistant specializing in the defensive line . This position provides consultation and advice to the coaching staff and athletes, playing a significant role in the programs ability to effectively develop athletes and make effective game day strategies and decisions for the DI, FBS football program.
- Assist with planning practice sessions and competitive coaching situations;
- Effectively teach, mentor and coach to develop successful and well-rounded student-athletes;
- Break-down film weeks in advance;
- Chart plays and tendencies and exercise discretion and independent judgment to analyze, interpret and communicate detailed and complex analysis of opponents andISU;
- Prepare and produce opponent scouting reports for use by coaching staff and student-athletes, self-scouting reports, and video cut-up reports;
- Oversee playbook/scouting report production;
- Identify and help successfully recruit and retain academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes;
- Help manage recruiting activities for assigned prospects and assist with official and unofficial visits;
- Establish and maintain effective interactions with students, colleagues, university staff and administrators, alumni, media and the public;
- Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, andNCAA;
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach or designee.
Candidates require a high level of football knowledge in relation to the skills, techniques, talent evaluation, and breakdown of tendencies, strategies, and play calling. Requires strong motivational, teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Position will work many non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends and requires the ability to travel overnight.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Experience coaching, video analyst or competing in football at a highly competitive level (post high school).
Experience using specialized sports software to breakdown and analyze football film.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful NCAADI or professional football coaching experience.
Successful NCAA DI or professional football playing experience.
Knowledge and expertise analyzing specific defense positions identified by the head coach (D-Line).
