General Scope of Duties

Connecticut College is seeking a dedicated instructional technologist committed to advancing instructional technology and fostering innovative teaching practices. This role requires someone who excels in a collaborative environment and can drive meaningful change. As an Instructional Technology Specialist, you will be an integral member of the Research Support & Curricular Technology team, working closely with faculty to enhance learning experiences across campus through the purposeful implementation of technology. General Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide faculty, staff and students with guidance, training, and support on the effective implementation of instructional technology tools and software.

Consult with faculty on course development: identifying course learning objectives and creatively and intentionally integrating technology to meet course goals.

Serve as application administrator for teaching and learning applications, including the learning management system, video content management system, and other licensed instructional technology software.

Research new and emerging instructional technology tools and software, evaluate for acquisition, recommend, and introduce technologies to the campus.

Create and maintain documentation for end users on supported instructional technology tools.

Collaborate with Research Support and Curricular Technology members to design and deliver faculty workshops and training programs to support the curriculum.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in the AI@Conn Initiative by assisting faculty in the implementation of AI tools and related concepts into their teaching.

Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning to offer programs for faculty.

Collaborate with Student Accessibility Services to support campus-wide digital accessibility efforts.

Participate on Digital Scholarship teams by identifying possible solutions to project proposals and collaborating with faculty to implement projects.

Actively participate in the profession including research publication and conference presentations.

Participates in the life of the College by attending campus events such as departmental lectures, gallery openings, arts performances, student exhibits, and invited speakers.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $75,000

Applicant Credentialing

Thorough applicant credentialing will be conducted on the selected candidate which will include criminal records check, DMV check and depending on the position psychological exam and pre-placement physical.

Education and Skills

Bachelors Degree required.

Masters degree or equivalent work experience in instructional technology, education, library and information science, or a related field.

Ability to build and sustain relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.

Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in current and emerging trends, issues, and best practices related to instructional technologies and instructional design methodologies.

Knowledge of best practices related to digital accessibility.

Well-organized, able to work under pressure and as a member of a team.

Travel as necessary to fulfill obligations of the position.
