Internal Job Number: P08860UF Description: The Basic Needs Center is seeking a Resource Literacy Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position. The Basic Needs Center ( BNC ) at Oregon State University is a vibrant community where students support each other in meeting basic needs. Student Peer Navigators offer coaching, problem-solving, resource navigation, and community- building to classmates working within economic challenges. The BNC hosts conversations, events, outreach, and programs focused on housing, food, and living strategies, including benefits application support, cooking classes, a learning garden, Emergency Housing Program, laptop loans, laundry, OSU Food Pantry, textbook lending, and free showers. The center is lively with activities, warm conversations, music, natural light, and a cozy fireplace. The BNC values relationships and trust, fostering leadership and capacity-building in all team members. Everyone is both a learner and a teacher at various moments within the program, working and learning within an organization that values and practices both high support and high expectations. The Resource Literacy Coordinator supports OSU students through leadership development, program administration, and education.
