Qualifications One year of work experience within higher education and/or a STEM-related business/industry Excellent interpersonal and group presentation skills (Required) The ability to work with minimal supervision. (Required) Evidence of skill in the supervision of student staff, and skill in instruction and mentoring students (Required) Working knowledge of labor market and employment recruitment trends and the hiring process for academic and non-academic jobs, as well as corresponding application protocols (Required) Superior career coaching and facilitation skills that apply to all levels of students, across all disciplines, but specifically the ability to effectively coach PhD level students as well as eligible alumni with more advanced career development issues. (Required) Demonstrated ability to develop student programming in higher education. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to design student programming for graduate students (Required) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to support larger goals (Required) Familiarity with career development platforms, including, but not limited to: Handshake, VMock, Big Interview, Vault, and IDP programs like ImaginePhD and MyIDP (Preferred) Familiarity with project management software, including, but not limited to: Smart Suite, Asana, Jira, and Trello (Preferred) Familiarity with marketing and outreach strategies in higher education, including the use of software like Canva and Adobe (Preferred) Demonstrated background working with, and advocating for, underrepresented students, including First Gen, marginalized, and system-impacted students (Required) Strong ability to analyze complex issues and identify viable solutions (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Master's Degree A minimum of a Master's degree in counseling or education. (Required) PhD PhD in an academic field preferred.
