Rep-Payee Accounting Supervisor - Military Veterans

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Manage the finances of Community Access Unlimited Inc. members who are unable to do so in their own best interest due to disability. Coordinate efforts of department staff and assist in performing all functions required for the efficient operation of the accounting department, with particular attention given to maintaining a high level of quality and to completing assignments on a timely basis. Communicate effectively with Rep Payee Business manager, program staff and the accounting team regarding status of work. Be able and flexible to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Accountancy. Minimum three years in organizational accounting, not-for profit and/finance experience preferred
JOB TASKS
- Provide effective supervision to subordinate staff
- Ensure compliance with SSA rules and regulations
- Maintain Organization Representative Payee Bank Accounts
- Ensure individual records are maintained accurately and appropriately
- Be Responsible for the daily bookkeeping functions as organizational representative payee
- Ensure Accounts Payable operates in accord with accounting policies and procedures
- Provide an accounting of transactions
- Monitor/Oversee functions of SNAP and PEX ensuring accuracy in reporting and distribution of funds where applicable.
- Review and process all payee bills in a timely manner. Follow up with vendor/clients when needed.
- Develop, revise and implement policies and procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to SSA in order to maintain status as Organizational Rep Payee
- Provide Software and Technical Support for Rep Payee programs and processes
- Ensure timely audits are conducted with partner Rep Payee agencies
- Meet all deadlines with accurate work product
- Interface with supervisor on internal control policies, internal audit functions, tax filings, independent audit functions and accounting projects
- Prepare for year-end audit and financial statement preparation. Interfaces with auditors. Goal is a clean audit with no material audit points in management letter.
- Interface with government agencies and auditors
- Cooperate with any Agency, DDD, and DYFS investigation and inspection
- Ensure compliance with all required state and federally mandated background and exclusion checks including but not limited to criminal history background investigation (fingerprinting), Central Registry, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI), drug testing, and motor vehicle checks.
- Ensure compliance with wearing a mask when mandated by State, Federal, and Licensing authorities during a public health crisis/pandemic.
