Position Specific Description

This position works with the Early Stage Project Manager to define and influence the project requirements and scope with the NextEra Energy Transmission Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 competitive transmission project proposals, or as greenfield projects for NEET affiliates (Lone Star, GridLiance, NEETNY, etc.). The candidate will manage EOR's, support narrative and commercial strategy with Early Stage PM's, NEET Development, and other stakeholders. The candidate will need to have an understanding of ISO requirements, emerging issues (such is wildfire mitigation strategies) and upcoming competitive windows. The candidate would ideally have competitive RFP experience in the transmission space and have worked on HV or EHV transmission line design and construction. Having commercial and contract negotiation experience is also a plus.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • FERC Order 1000 / Competitive RFP experience
  • HVDC transmission line design experience
  • 500-765kV transmission line design experience
  • Commercial / Contract negotiation
  • Understanding ISO requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Job Overview

This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

• Provides engineering, design and environmental support
• Tracks and reports on project negotiations and performance
• Delivers company standards, policies, training, and support of organization
• Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings
• Formulates researches, and develops improvement measures
• Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
• Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
• Ability to work extended hours
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•Bachelor's - Engineering
•Experience:7+ years

•Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
•Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
•Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
•Master's Degree
•Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
•Six Sigma Master Black Belt
