Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) Department in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is now accepting applications for a part-time or full-time term faculty position at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor or Assistant, Associate or Professor of Practice to teach multiple sections or courses at the undergraduate or graduate level in Information Systems and Business Analytics, starting August 2025.
The standard full-time teaching load is four courses per semester (i.e., a 4-4 teaching load). The successful candidate will be able to deliver using one or more of the following modes: on campus (required), online, blended, or flipped, and participate in department service activities as required, including advising undergrad students.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A masters degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field from a nationally or internationally accredited university is required.
Meet the colleges faculty qualification standards for AACSB Accreditation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching courses at the college level, particularly in the following areas:
- Business Analytics
- Cybersecurity
- Programming in Python
- Project Management / Agile
- Systems Analysis and Design
Industry experience in information systems management.
Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed information systems or related field journals or practitioner outlet.
Doctoral degree in a related field is also highly desirable.
Department Description:
The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics faculty are active in their field. They have been published in premier journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Science, the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Decision Sciences Journal. They serve or have served as editors, associate editors, and members of editorial boards for leading information systems journals. Many of our faculty have received doctorates from the top ten premier MIS programs. ISBA faculty have active research projects in business analytics, cybersecurity, healthcare, IT strategy, artificial intelligence, and other IS and analytic areas. The faculty collaborates with colleagues in the department, college, university, and profession. Ph.D. students graduating from the ISBA department have placed at schools such as Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, University of Cincinnati, and Florida International University.
