Job Summary:
Teach equivalency and graduate courses in music therapy and graduate courses music education as needed. Assist with coordination of student clinical placements at University of Kentucky HealthCare and in the Lexington community as needed. Advise students and supervise graduate research projects, including directing master's theses. Contribute to scholarly research and professional leadership in the field, consistent with division and School of Music criteria for tenure and promotion. Scholarly research includes publishing peer-reviewed articles in top-tier scholarly journals and presenting peer-reviewed papers at professional conferences. All faculty members in the School of Music are expected to participate in shared governance within the School of Music, the College of Fine Arts, and the University, as well as one's profession. Tenured faculty in the
School of Music may be asked to serve a term as Director of Undergraduate or Graduate Studies, depending upon the needs of the School.

Required Education:
PhD in music therapy or a related field required ( ABD candidates will be
considered).
Required Related Experience:
At least five years of full-time clinical experience in music therapy (or the equivalent in part-time work) required. Candidates must demonstrate advanced competencies in music therapy and effectiveness as a music
therapy clinician. College teaching experience and denmonstrated potential for strong research/scholarly publication, leadership, and creative activity in the field of music therapy required. Experience in clinical supervision, telehealth, teaching and advising research at the graduate level, and teaching distance learning classes preferred.
Required License/Registration/Certification :
Board-certification in music therapy (MT-BC) required.
