Responsibilities:
Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
- Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
- Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
- Motivating students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
- Adapting to the various learning styles of students
- For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
Minimum requirements:
- For Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Higher education degree is a plus!)
- For Substitute Paraprofessionals: At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
- For Long-term Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Long-term is 11+ consecutive days on the same assignment.)
- All candidates must be comfortable working with a computer-based scheduling and payroll system
- Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal communication skills
*** Daily Substitute Teacher pay is $115/day.
Long-term Substitute Teacher Pay is $180/day (after the 11th consecutive day on the same assignment). **
