As an Engineering Functional Manager for the JTAGS program, you will play a pivotal role in building and sustaining a strong team. This role is only a 20% allocation of tasking within the engineering department and requires an 80% technical role on the JTAGS program.
This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing and guiding individual technical contributors, such as Systems, Software, Test, and/or Cyber Engineers
* Setting objectives and then monitoring and reviewing yearly progress for your staff
* Workload management and labor forecasting for direct reports
* Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for the program and organization, including participation in the organization’s agile hiring process
* Quarterly performance assessments of your team members
* Assisting team members with career development, goal creation, and employee engagement
* Collaboration with other OU Section Leads and Engineering Managers, supporting overall execution of IMS based programs
* Supporting regular Program reviews, PMRs, and customer engagements
* Note: this role is a leadership position at 20% functional management and 80% IPT leadership of a technical team.
Basic Qualifications:
* 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics or related field; 3 years of experience with a Masters' degree
* 2 years of experience in any combination of Systems/Software Engineering, Integration and Test, cybersecurity, or other related engineering disciplines.
* Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineering background in Systems/Software/Test Engineering or Cybersecurity including deriving hardware and software requirements and designing, developing and testing systems
* Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) Program Engineering experience.
* Experience as a functional manager
* Experience as a technical IPT Lead
* Experience in recruiting and developing top engineering talent
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated aptitude for analytical problem decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, solution implementation, metric development, and metric evaluation
* Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills
* An ability to showcase the company’s capabilities to existing and potential customers to support business development activities
* Experience in BOE (Basis of Estimate) writing and proposal experience
* Experience working in an Agile framework
* Experience with U.S. Government contracts
*Salary Range: *$118,100 - $177,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
