We're seeking a skilled Welder to join a metals manufacturing team in Lake Mary, Florida.
Job Title: Welder
Salary Range: Up to $20.00 per hour (based on experience) (Salary is discussed in the interview)
Type of Position: Full-time/ Temp to hire
Schedule: 2nd shift Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00pm
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials, ensuring high-quality work while adhering to safety precautions. The successful candidate will have a steady hand, great attention to detail, and a strong understanding of different types of metals and their properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and drawings, taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws.
- Maintain welding equipment in a safe and operational condition.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Proven experience as a welder with a solid understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.).
- Proficiency in using electrical or manual tools (squares, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and dexterity.
- Proficient in English.
- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
- Professional Certification (e.g., AWS welding certificate) is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- CWI or CRAWL certification is a major plus.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
