Position Overview
Power your future with Qualus in our Field Engineering department as a Wireman. The Wireman is to perform wire pulling, wire termination, and control panel construction withing substations and electrical facilities.
Travel: Up to 100%
Responsibilities
- Reads prints, uses standard hand and power tools, follow specific work instructions while adhering to all Safety and Human Performance fundamentals
- Inspect, test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment in generating stations, substations, and in-service relays
- Wires from point-to-point or schematics
- Install process piping and instrumentation
- Installs components per layout drawings
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic electrical knowledge in commercial, industrial, or utility projects
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables
- Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid Driver's license and good driving record
Comprehensive knowledge of electricity as it pertains to substation construction and maintenance work. Knowledge of material used in substation construction and maintenance standard practice.
