What You Will Do
As an IT Manager 4 overseeing the Institutional Services (IS) group in the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) at LANL, you will oversee organizational management, including budgeting, forecasting and financial management, capability and staff development, succession planning, personnel and salary management, and ensure a safe and secure workplace. The ISD-IS group is one of four groups that make up ISD. This group consists of seven technical teams that are responsible for the management and operations of the Server, Operating System, and Database Administration that supports LANLs Institutional Services.
As the ISD-IS Group Leader, you will lead and manage all aspects of employee performance for your team, ensuring consistent, reliable, and automated metrics that track group operations. You will integrate services across various I&T divisions, fostering seamless collaboration. Your technical responsibilities will include overseeing LINUX and Windows server infrastructures, virtual server environments, enterprise storage, and application middleware support. Additionally, you will provide database administration support and manage operating system configuration and specialty systems. On the institutional side, you will oversee the ISD-IS work packages, ensuring fiscal stewardship and compliance with financial expectations set by the Laboratory's monthly Business Stewardship Review and CIO reporting. You will also build and maintain strong working relationships with Laboratory leaders, ALDBUS managers, and customers to ensure successful implementation of ALDBUS and ISD initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience leading a large team/organiza ti on in all aspects of organiza ti onal management, capability and staff development, succession planning, personnel and salary management, performance management and ensuring a safe and secure workplace.
- Demonstrated leadership competencies including the ability to define and measure op ti mal performance in an institutionally supported server environment, and to manage and maintain automated, data-driven metrics.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational change through strategic planning and tac ti cal opera ti ons management.
- Demonstrated experience with collabora ti on across organiza ti onal boundaries and the ability to manage customer rela ti onships in a posi ti ve manner.
- Excellent interpersonal, communica ti on, and rela ti onship building skills with an ability to priori ti ze, nego ti ate, and work with a variety of internal and external cons ti tuents.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working with LANL's OCIO and the National Nuclear Security Administration, Los Alamos Field Office.
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex budget.
- Experience applying project management principles to set project scope, schedule, priori ti es, and deliverables.
- Knowledge of and experience delivering core IT services for a large organiza ti on, including underlying infrastructure and configura ti ons.
- Knowledge of configura ti on management tools/processes.
- Demonstrated experience with external audits.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, NIST, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in formal incident management.
- Ac ti ve DOE Q clearance.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations areat the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Clearance:Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearancerequires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances.Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances.See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in aneligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligibleposition as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
