Field Technician - Military Veterans

POSITION SUMMARY

Build and maintain a quality network equipment. Understand typical installations of standard base station and small cell equipment from Nokia/ALU, Cell Site Routers and Switches, SIAD’s, OBIF’s, RRU’s and AC/DC power systems. Additional duties include technical support to switch and field technicians and mentoring associate technicians.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
AS PART OF SITE COMMISSIONING AND INTEGRATION OF LTE BASE STATIONS, CARRIERS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

•Understanding the design of a macro cell site (cabling, RRU’s, antennas, fiber cabling, Power Systems) and the installation, integration and testing of such. LTE certification and/or experience is preferred.

•Be familiar with and understand macro cell site BTS and RF components (e.g.: CSR’s RRH’s, BBU’s, MMBS/BTS’s, power upgrades, Network Interface Devices).

•Certified or experienced with the installation and commissioning of Nokia Airscale or Ericsson 6630 BBU.

•Experience with testing fiber and Coax such as sweep testing, OTDR and PIM testing.

•Commissioning and integration of Cell Site Routers and Switches (Nokia, Juniper, Accedian, Ericsson).

•Understand and effectively ground all necessary equipment.

•Terminate batteries in a DC power system.

•Troubleshoot issues from the edge to the core of a network.

•Provide support to switch and field technicians during installation and integration.

•Perform E911 and Acceptance call testing and alarm clearing, if required.

•Works aggressively on multiple job tasks to help meet timelines.

•Ability to thoroughly document, report and communicate processes, procedures, and results.

•Produce a punch list and coordinate completion of punch list items.

•Clearly communicate with the team on the daily progress of site builds and maintenance calls.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

•Associate’s degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school; with 3-4 years of applicable telecom installation experience in a highly aggressive field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Experience with wireless telecommunication equipment installation and troubleshooting. Experience with Nokia and /or Ericsson Base Station equipment installation, commissioning and integration.

•Experience with Windows 10, using a laptop to set up console sessions using HyperTerminal or similar, the use of FTP client software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
