Hiring hourly range: $42 - $45 (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand, and on call is a requirement.
As a HVAC / Boiler Technician, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including:
- Providing a level of expertise in performing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of industrial or commercial facility HVAC and Boiler equipment.
- Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary.
- Maintenance, inspection (internal & external), and repair of boilers, burners, controls, and related boiler equipment (deaerator, blowdown separator, feedwater tank, water softener, chemical pumps, master panels, etc.) for both steam and hot water applications.
- Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
- Regularly testing boiler water and making necessary adjustments to chemicals to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits.
- Operating, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU's, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, Boilers, and other mechanical equipment as needed.
- Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
- Provide a level of expertise in the efficient operation of all boiler, HVAC, and Hydronic systems.
- Recharging refrigerant levels, checking for leaks, and ensuring the refrigerant cycle is functioning correctly in air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
- Performing preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Performing the functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
- Operating various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Complying with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Maintaining a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.

Communication
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
- Ability to communicate clearly via phone
- Ability to work closely with customer during site emergencies.
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, i.e., listening to customer needs, articulating path forward and giving solutions that provide value to the customer, etc.
- Accurately document electronic and paper cataloging system to provide information to customer or regulatory personnel.
- Strive for quick complaint resolution; to resolve problems on the first call and avoid escalation of issues through operational knowledge.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- EPA Universal Refrigeration License
- Five years of experience as an HVAC/R - Boiler maintenance technician in industrial and/or commercial environments or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.
- Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
Some physical/special requirements include:
- Regularly lift to 50 lbs
- Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
- Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
- Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
- Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Requirements
- Technical degree preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
- Experience working with heavy industrial or manufacturing plant steam systems, centrifugal chillers, air handling units, turbines, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, pneumatic controls, and building automation control systems.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
- Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
