Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy, we are taking our Legal Assistant role to the next level. You will be part of the team that drives excellence and works together in making an impact!

• 3 years minimum as legal assistant in a transactional practice group at a law firm, government agency or corporation
• Excellent MS Word, Power Point, Outlook skills
• Familiarity with time entry, document management
• Ability to triage incoming legal service requests
• Ability to draft correspondence, basic legal documents, and reports
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new process and procedures
• Superior organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as the legal assistant will interact with clients, including C-Suite executives, on a daily basis

Job Overview

Employees in this role provide advanced legal and administrative assistance and support functions for attorneys and members of the law department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists in case preparation including basic legal research, file maintenance and transaction management and closings
• Drafts documents and correspondence
• Maintains legal calendar and schedules all legal proceedings and negotiations
• Mentors and coordinates work activities for junior employees
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
