Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a System Administrator to manage systems for the Us Coast Guard C5I Service Center.
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, installs and maintains operating and systems software; manages systems configuration; monitors compliance with system standards; evaluates software and/or hardware; administers and maintains user accounts and profiles; and performs operating system troubleshooting.
- Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
- Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
- Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
- Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
- Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
- Provides technical support for system users.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Typically requires BA and 2-4 years.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of system administration experience is required; or certificate from an accredited Community or Technical College in System Administration and five (5) years of system administration experience is required.
- Requires successful completion of additional training in one or more leading network operating systems, equipment, and protocols within two (2) years of task order solicitation.
- A current System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent certification is required.
- A Secret clearance is required.
Pay Range
90-100K
