DePaul University Associate Director of Development, College of Law Loop Campus (Hybrid) Job Description The Highlights: The Associate Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for identifying, qualifiying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and planned gift prospects and donors for DePaul University's College of Law. What You'll Do: Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift ($50,000+) prospects for the College of Law. Develop customized strategies to deepen prospect relationships with the College of Law and DePaul. Partner with senior leaders and key constituencies (Deans, faculty, senior leadership, students, etc.) in cultivation/solicitation/stewardship process, as necessary. Travel to Chicagoland and key markets outside of the Chicago region to visit with alumni and friends. Attend key College of Law and DePaul University events, programs, and meetings. Work with the Executive Director of Development and Dean of the College to design and execute a fundraising plan focused on securing annual and long-term philanthropic support from alumni, friends, corporations, foundations, faculty, and staff. Assist the Associate Vice President or Development, the Executive Director of Development, or the Dean in special projects and initiatives. Work with College of Law faculty on the management and strategy for one to two advisory councils. Work with members of the Leadership Annual Giving team to identify donors that should move to a major gift portfolio and help coordinate the transition of the relationship with the identified prospects. What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree required. 2-3 years experience as a professional fundraiser focused on cultivating and soliciting individual prospects or related client/relationship management experience. Background or experience working within legal education, a legal-focused non-profit organization, and/or the Chicago legal marketplace is preferred. Experience with fundraising campaigns is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Ability to work without close supervision and to make appropriate decisions aligned with University policy. Discretion and ability to interact with high-level donors and their families. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Very strong project management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Excellent communication skills (orally, written) and ability to present before a group Willingness to learn and use our CRM database. The ability to develop an innovative strategic approach to fundraising. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel. Maintain a polished, professional demeanor.
